Founded in 2003 by the Scales family, MINI's-Making-A-Wish, (MMAW) a 501c3 non-profit organization is dedicated to helping children through the Make-A-Wish Foundation®. The first MINI Cooper toy run began in Westerly, Rhode Island in 2003 with the mission of sponsoring the travel accommodations of Wish children who have chosen Disney World as their Wish. MMAW also collects new toys which are then used as ice breaker gifts when the Wish granters visit potential Wish children for the first time.

These toys are gathered annually by fellow MINI Cooper enthusiasts and sponsoring companies from around New England and New York. On the first weekend in December the MINI's gather and hold a Toy Run / Rally to the Make-A-Wish Foundation® headquarters. To date, over 3,800 toys and numerous monetary donations have been raised for the Make-A-Wish Foundation®.

This site has been established to further promote the MINI’s Making-A-Wish fundraising events.

A note on the Make-A-Wish Foundation®
The Make-A-Wish Rhode Island Chapter (est. 1991) has been servicing our community for almost 14 years by granting the wishes (over 723 to date in R.I.) of any child between the ages of 2 ½ and 18 years old who are diagnosed with life threatening medical conditions to enrich the experience with hope, strength, and joy. Born in 1980 when a group of caring individuals helped a young boy fulfill his dream of becoming a police officer, the National Foundation is now the largest wish-granting charity in the world, with 72 chapters in the U.S. and 28 affiliates on five continents. Granting more than 11, 500 wishes a year, Make-A-Wish celebrated "25 Years Making Dreams Come True" in 2005. Make-A-Wish was also recently featured in America’s Greatest Brands, selected along with Habitat for Humanity International and The Metropolitan Museum of Art as a leader in brand marketing.
